What is Descovo?+
Descovo is a B2B data provider for AI agents and MCP clients. It provides access to 700M+ professional profiles and 50M+ companies. Search by role, seniority, company, industry, and location, then attempt to reveal available work email and direct phone fields.
How does MCP work with Descovo?+
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants call external tools. Descovo runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.descovo.com/mcp. Add it to your AI client's config with the x-api-key header so your agent can search and run reveal attempts inline.
What does a search cost?+
Search costs 1 credit per profile, company, or job returned; count queries are free. A reveal is charged only for the fields it finds: 2 credits for a work email, 3 for a direct phone, nothing when nothing is found. Ask for both and you pay for both: 5 credits when a work email and direct phone come back together. Use a count query to size a search before paging through results, then reveal only the people worth contacting.
How do reveal modes find contact data?+
Lite uses a lower-yield lookup. Standard balances speed and coverage. Turbo prioritizes speed and uses a premium enrichment stack at a higher cost.
What MCP clients does Descovo support?+
Descovo currently supports Claude Code, Cursor, and custom MCP clients that accept Streamable HTTP connections with a static x-api-key header. Claude.ai and Claude Desktop custom remote connectors require OAuth, which Descovo does not yet expose.
How does Descovo pricing differ from seat-based plans?+
Descovo has no seat licenses or minimums. You pay per search result and per contact field found. Search costs 1 credit per profile, company, or job returned; count queries are free. A reveal is charged only for the fields it finds: 2 credits for a work email, 3 for a direct phone, nothing when nothing is found. Ask for both and you pay for both: 5 credits when a work email and direct phone come back together.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. Descovo runs as a hosted MCP server. Configure your MCP client to connect to https://mcp.descovo.com/mcp with your API key in the x-api-key header. No npm package, no Docker, no local process.
What happens if a reveal doesn't find an email or phone?+
Nothing is charged. A reveal is charged only for the fields it finds: 2 credits for a work email, 3 for a direct phone, nothing when nothing is found. A not-found result returns no contact fields and deducts no credits for that attempt.
Can I use Descovo without MCP, via a regular API?+
Yes. Every operation available through MCP is also available as a REST API endpoint. For direct REST calls, pass your sk_live_ key as apiKey in the query string for GET requests or in the JSON body for POST requests. The x-api-key header is used by the hosted MCP connection.
Is there a free tier?+
Yes. Every new account gets 500 free credits/month, no card required. Search costs 1 credit per profile, company, or job returned; count queries are free. The same per-result and per-field rates apply on every plan.
What data can I search by?+
People search supports name, job title, seniority, current company, industry, location, and keyword filters. Company search supports name, domain, industry, headcount, location, and technology stack. To combine company headcount with person criteria, use paginatedCombinedSearch.
Where does Descovo's data come from?+
The underlying dataset is compiled from publicly available sources and licensed third-party data providers. Lite uses a lower-yield lookup. Standard balances speed and coverage. Turbo prioritizes speed and uses a premium enrichment stack at a higher cost. We do not scrape social media accounts or collect data in ways that violate platform terms of service.
